It all started on a working day, when our boss wanted us to work on a business case. One of the tools suggested was Augmented Reality or AR.
Now, I enter the world of AR. I go online, search, and read every bit of information available on this technology. My complete understanding of this technology was that AR combines the real and virtual world and is interactive in real time. Sounds complicated?
In augmented reality, the images of the real world are combined with technology to provide a wholesome realistic approach. The advantage is that, in real life, under various circumstances, we never get the opportunity or hands on experience of various tasks. Let me explain. For example, medical students cannot perform real time operations on patients unless and until they become experts in the field. This can be overcome with the use of AR. Medical students can perform real time operations on the various parts of the human body without needing a specimen. They can cut open the skin, operate, and then sew the skin back in place without having to undergo risks. The students can also perform the operations any number of times.
AR ranges from simple realistic approaches to complicated real life scenarios. It is a whole gamut of things.
Initially, the technology might seem a bit complicated. However, things will fall in place when you explore and read about it.
My best understanding started with the videos that were available online. The one that interested me the most was the AR that GE had provided.
It is a world that you have craved to live in. Explore and enjoy!
