A home away from home...

Within city limits, a house that provides shelter for the needy…No, it is not an orphanage nor an old age home. It is a charity organization, run by contributors both Indian and NRI, the Blue Cross.

Situated in Velachery, the place is indeed a heaven for the needy animals. A foot inside Blue Cross and you will know what the place is.

With volunteers working round the clock and animal lovers sponsoring the food, Blue Cross is a promised land. The organization provides treatment apart from housing animals. With Birds, Cats, Buffalows, Cows, all of them given special attention, the place is a wonder world.

So what does Blue Cross need?

The cry is loud and clear; cute puppies cry out for human affection and little kittens meow to gain the attention of visitors. This is not the only sight. Three legged dogs and one-eyed cats that are abandoned by the owner for their sickness captures the pathos of the situation. Animals in death bed long for love and affection.

For all those who grow pets, here is what I have to say. Take an animal to Blue Cross for treatment, but do not abandon it for its sickness. Reciprocate the faithfulness and belief the animal bestows on you.
